Have you ever received such a message from your bellowed personal computer? It is quite unpleasant if you are not a technical genius or at least amateur to receive one of those. Some people would like their computer would just work and do what they would like it too. And when it comes to computer messages you sometimes just do not know what to do as people and computers speak on different languages. And the magic phrase "Work! Please…” will not always be useful. However, if you get a "no audio device” message you should not be too scared: the problem is not too difficult… I hope.
This message shows up on the display when the computer cannot find the audio device which should be attached to it and therefore do something like playing the music or any other sounds.
Your actions
- If you get this message, the first thing to be done is checking the BIOS in order to find out whether the audio is set to the right mode ("auto” mode).
- You also need to make sure that you have installed all the necessary drivers for that device on your computer. Otherwise it won’t work.
- If you are not sure that you have installed the right driver for your audio device, check the manual for the right information. You need to look for the type and specification of the device and compare it to the one which your driver is for.
- You can go another way and use the device manager which will inform you on the property of the installation. If you wonder how to find the device manager, click on the My Computer icon, then go to Properties, find the Hardware tab, click on it and finally go to the Device Manager. You will get to know that some drivers are missing in case that there are some devices marked with a yellow question mark. You can download drivers you need from the website of the company producing the audio devices. But make sure that the drivers you install are compatible with the operating system you work at.
- If that is all right then you can go further and open computer to ensure that all the wires are plugged in properly. Pay attention to the sound card. The problem might be just in the loss of connections.
And the last option to check is whether your device works right, because it may just be defective.
