Linksys Router IP- Configuring Made Easy

The internet is a network of inter-connected PCs that are all connected to a single server which lets that connected computers to share the information that is present on the server. The websites that we view on the on the internet are locations on the network that have been allocated an IP address from where they can be accessed. The IP (Internet Protocol) is the mechanism of the internet communication in which all the devices that are present in the network are identified by their IP addresses. It is through these IP addresses that the devices communicate with each other and send and receive data.
Default IP Address of the Linksys Router:-
The Router is also a device that is connected to the network and thus it too has an IP address through which it can be identified. The default Linksys IP address is 192.168.1.1 and it is the same for all models of the Linksys routers. When the user tries to install and configure his router he has to go to the website of the router first to configure it. For the case of the Linksys routers the IP address is a universal one and the router is going to pick up the address automatically if the default settings have been chosen by the user for configuring it.
There can be issues if the router is not set on the default parameters because then the user has to manually try to locate the IP address of the router. The IP address of the router is written in the documentations that with the device and usually the user does not has to look far to find it. If the user is unable to locate the IP address of the router on the manual, that comes with the package, than he will have find it himself.
Finding the IP of the Linksys Router in Windows XP:-
• The procedure for finding the IP address of the router, in Windows XP, begins by clicking the "Start” button and then clicking the” All Programs” option which will open up a list of choices for the user to select.
• From this list select the "Accessories” option which is again going to show a list of options.
• From this second list select the "Command prompt” option. This way the Operating system is going to take you to the command prompt.
• Here the user would have to type the word ipconfig after the command prompt and press enter. A list will appear in which the default gateway is going to give the required IP address.
